Our Beliefs

The Bible

We believe the Bible to be the infallible and inerrant Word of God, uniquely inspired by the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme and final authority in all matters of Christian faith and practice.

God

We believe in one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is God, the living word, who became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. Hence, He is the perfect Deity and true humanity united in one person forever.

We believe in the Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. He is not dead, He has risen and the salvation of man is wholly a work of God' s free grace and is not the work, in whole or in part, of human works or goodness or religious ceremony.

God imputes His righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation; and being saved is not based upon any kind of human merit, but is produced by the witness of the Holy Spirit, who confirms in the believer the testimony of God in His written word.

Jesus Christ is the head of the church and His body is composed of all men, living and dead, who have been joined to Him through saving faith.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit has come into the world to reveal and glorify Christ and to apply the saving work of Christ to men. He convicts and draws sinners to Christ, imparts new life to them, continually dwells in them from the moment of spiritual birth and seals them until the day of redemption. His fullness, power and control are appropriated in the believer's life by faith.

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit empowers believers to develop the character of Christ in their lives and is a subsequent experience after salvation as taught in the book of Acts.

Worship and Gathering

God admonishes His people to assemble together regularly for worship, for participation in ordinance, for edification through the scriptures and for mutual encouragement.

We observe two ordinances commanded by the scriptures, which are Baptism in water in the name of Jesus Christ, and Communion - observing until He comes again.

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ commanded all believers to proclaim the gospel throughout the world and to disciple humanity of every nation. The fulfillment of that Great Commission requires that we be totally committed to "Him who loved us and gave Himself for us."

We present the message of the Gospel through preaching, teaching, music, video, multimedia, drama, poetry, and any other avenue to represent who God is and His love for people.

Miracles and Divine Healing

We believe that God still heals the physical bodies of mankind when faith is exercised on the part of the believer in the will of God. We believe from James Chapter 5 that the elders of the Church should anoint with oil in the name of The Lord when called upon and requested by the sick, and it is the Lord Jesus who raises up the sick. We believe the believer has the power of Mark 16:

"And these signs shall follow them that believe... they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover"

The Second Coming

We believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ to take his beloved church to a place we identify as heaven. We believe at the second coming according to 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, at Christ's coming the "dead shall rise from the graves" and those Christians remaining on the earth shall be caught up to meet them in the clouds to ever be with the Lord in Heaven.

We believe in Heaven and Hell as stated in the Word of God and that there will be a final judgment of mankind.

Spiritual Growth

As our Christ-like character develops, we become more loving people. Evidence of this is- by the Fruits of the Spirit of God being displayed in our lives, which are: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control.

Our spiritual growth involves a relationship with Jesus Christ and with others. We are committed to value each individual and live relationally with one another.

We use our gifts to serve God and others. People in need cross our path every day and we believe the scriptures show the Body of Christ as the church that meets the needs of people who are oppressed and marginalized in our community and beyond.

Sexual Morality

We believe God has set forth in the Bible His standards for our lives including those regarding sexuality and marriage. The Bible says that marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. The Bible further provides that any sexual acts and behavior outside of the marriage covenant is a sin. The exercise of sexual expression outside of the biblical definition of marriage in any manner, including but not limited to homosexuality, adultery, premarital sex, or co-habitation, is contradictory to the teachings of Scripture and the principles governing the Church.
